The American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR Course covers core material including adult and pediatric CPR, foreign body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation (AED). 

Intended Audience: The AHA's BLS course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and pre-hospital settings. 

If a registration is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled start of class, the registration fee will be forfeited.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will offer patients compassion and patience while assisting them with activities of daily living. Certified Nursing Assistants enjoy solid job security and frequently work a flexible schedule. Typical work environments include long-term care facilities, hospitals, clinics and in the home.

While in school, you will be instructed on a broad range of subjects, including infection control, communication and interpersonal skills, safety and emergency procedures, personal care skills, psychosocial needs, basic restorative services and skills, basic nursing skills, quality of life improvement and more. The Perry Foundation Academy of Health’s CNA program is 96 hours and takes up to five weeks to complete, preparing you to take the Nevada State Board of Nursing licensing exams.

Enrollment Requirements

Persons wishing to enroll in the Perry Foundation Academy of Health CNA Program must show proof of high school diploma (or equivalency), or successfully complete a pre-admission assessment to ensure each prospective student is capable of completing the program. 

Enrollment requirements include the following: 

  1. Background Check (included in tuition)
  2. CPR / BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (included in tuition)
  3. Proof of Immunizations, TB test results, and Physical Exam as outlined in the Student Catalog (pg. 4-5 under Enrollment Requirements)

Enrollment into the program is subject to the approval by the Academic Director once all prerequisites have been met, the required deposit has been made, and the Enrollment Agreement has been signed and returned. If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Nevada and are looking to expand your skill set, the Perry Foundation Academy of Health’s IV Certification for LPNs could help you gain the knowledge and technical skills needed to safely set up and maintain IV therapies in a clinical setting.

 

This program is approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing pursuant to NAC 632.450 to 632.475 and consists of 30 hours of instruction and 10 hours of clinical and laboratory practice.  

REFUND POLICY: A full refund will be processed for any notice of cancellation greater than 72 hours prior to the start of the program. Any cancellation notification received 24 - 72 hours prior to the start of the program will receive 50% refund, and any cancellation notification received under 24 hours will NOT receive a refund. All cancellation notifications must be by email to Robert@PerryFoundationNV.org. Please allow 3-5 days for all refunds.

 

 

This course has been designed specifically to satisfy the NRS 449.037 and NAC 449.2742-2748 requirements regarding the training of caregivers in Assisted Living / Residential Facilities for Groups to assist residents when taking medication. 

This is an 8-hour refresher course for those that have already completed the initial 16-hour certification course and is in need of the required 8-hour course for renewal. 

Upon completion of your registration, you will recieve confirmation email with a link to the online modules with detailed instructions. Upon successfully completing the online course, you will contact Irie Douville at the Perry Foundation in order to schedule your in-person exam. Your renewal certificate will be issued to you at the time of the successful completion of your exam. 

The program has been approved by the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC).

 

This course has been designed specifically to satisfy the NRS 449.037 and NAC 449.2742-2748 requirements regarding the training of caregivers in Assisted Living / Residential Facilities for Groups to assist residents when taking medication. Participants will learn a number of required skills related to the proficiencies of medication assistance to include but not limited to the following:

  1. How to safely handle and administer medications.
  2. Understanding commonly prescribed medications used in residential care. 
  3. The 6 "Rights of Medication Assistance" - right resident, right drug, right dosage, right time, right route, and right record/documentation.
  4. The 21 specific and key regulations found in the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and Nevada Administrative Code (NAC).

This program is hybrid with the first 8 hours to be completed online. The online componant, including the accompaning online tests must be successfully completed prior to being allowed admittance into the final 8 hours conducted in-person on this date that you registered for. Please ensure you have enough time to complete the 8 hours online prior to the date of the in-person portion before completing this registration.

Upon completing this registration, you will receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions and a link to access the online portion of the program.

The program has been approved by the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) and adheres to the 16 hours required for certification.
